Two can keep a secret if one of them is dead

A few months ago I  impulsively bought this mannequin to display my clothing on. On the picture below the mannequin is wearing part of my Dominatrix party outfit, last March. My lovely friend Skeletons in the Closet let me borrow her handmade neck corset with black pearls and latex under-bust corset. The knee-length hoop-skirt (without skirt) is also by her hands.

The pink shoes are part of another party outfit I wore last March. Since I wasn't sure which pink would match better, I bought both pairs and since there was super-sale I thought it wouldn't hurt to also purchase those black shiny summer-wedges!  

The picture above is of my crafting table. This is where I like to sit with my sewing machine or any other crafts I feel inspired to from time to time. I like to surround this corner of my house with inspiring items, like these shoes, like fake flowers and real ones alike and these (very nicely priced) black frames I found recently with cock-feathers from the local petting zoo.

For the past two years I had a large painting of a boy with a colorful bird hanging above my purse-dressoir. Even though I loved that painting and still do, it was time for something less 'heavy' my lighter creative-room. This beautiful bronze cameo double candle lamps are the perfect replacement! They also help lighting the inside of my closets (that are both left and right from this picture).

 

Lately I have really been into buying black home decorations, mostly flower pots and vases. I also found this adorable black bunny! And by accident I ran into this decorative shelve with matching shelve holders in a DIY store and got the idea to make it into a shelve above my bedroom door.

This absolute goth-must-have is decorating my bedroom wall. 

Another gothic must-have: black baroque chandelier. 

Early spring look; Modified coat from H&M, big black scarf (also H&M), black high heel hoots (V&D) and black leggings with shiny filigrees on the sides (New Yorker). The brooch is a beautifully unique thrift shop find (better pics in the future!).

This frame holds a print from the The Resurrectionist (The Lost Work of Dr. Spencer Black) by E.B. Hudspeth. This book is totally on my wish-list! I have several prints from it in my house. There are many interesting drawings from this book on the internet, google it! It is a fictional biography of Dr. Black who digs into the possibility of the existence of mythological creatures and investigates their anatomy. Creatures we never expected to really be real, like mermaids, minotaurs and satyrs.

The purple tin contains a Amethyste scented candle that was brought to me from Germany. The fragrance is so smooth and sweet. I absolutely love it and it matches so well in our house!

Les curieux, Les rares et la belle No.8

My most recent purchase: this beautifully hand blown glass bell with bunny ears (V&D) and it magically fits on the black metal platter! Not sure what to put under it yet though! 

The items with the anatomical heart drawing and monsieur Owl are actually wooden boxes that you can put your own photos in. I secretly stole these pictures from the internets. The boxes contain bunny candies for my bunny-buns. Nom nom!

The title of this post refers to the into of Pretty Little Liars, that I have recently started watching and totally got addicted to! I am currently half way season two, but fortunately there are plenty of little and big lies to discover, since season 6 is aired this year.

Anyone else watching it?

New Purchases of July

On my last day of my free-student traveling card, Elselien and I went on a shopping spree in Utrecht, a lovely old town in the very center of the Netherlands. During my five years of free student traveling I occasionally went there to shop. Utrecht has a few shops that we do not have up here, in the north. Whenever I am in Utrecht I wont leave before visiting Accessorize, New Yorker, Tally Weijl and Donna Li.

This is what I bought:

Two new skirts. Donna Li on the left and a faux leather one from New Yorker on the right. I absolutely love how the lacy skirt has a pencil skirt-model but is shorter in front. Also the bones make such an elegant shape. The leathery one caught my attention because of its decorated border, which is so well done!

I took these pictures in my clothing room. I promise there will be pictures about the room one day!

Another one of my newer purchases, is this lovely Victorian Black Lace Neck Corset from Decadent Designz. It is hand made in Canada and found its way into my collection of special accessories about two weeks ago. I think it is so beautiful! It is decorative, delicate, sophisticated and yet alternative.

I simply cannot get enough of little black dresses. They make me happy! The next dress is a 5 euro score from a traveling vintage clothing kilo-sale that visited our town at the end of May. It has this absolutely 50's vibe, but is still wearable in our modern times. I like the high neckline, that is created by this big bow that covers the shoulder. So feminine!

Oh, and these beauties, I had seen these in Sasha about a year ago, but were not available in my size anymore and they could not be ordered. Now I found them on the online second hand market, for a very pretty price. They will need some pads on the inside, but other than that I can walk in them pretty well! I am in love!

The spoons in the photos below are also a product of my Utrecht shopping day. I bought them in a store that we also have up here in the north, and basically every other city in the Netherlands, but I never seen these particular spoons. I found them so decorative. They are the perfect cutlery for celebrating a lovely tiramisu!

The frame was something I accidentally bumped into in Mamamini. It was bright red, so my eye had run across it a couple of times before I realized it had potential. And this is the result after three layers of paint. Even though I do not know what to put in the frame, I am loving it!

Last evening I went out for dinner with an old friend of mine, and I had a couple of minutes before she would arrive, so I hopped into a shoe store and impulsively bought a pair of adorbs pumps,with frills.The lacy socks are from Leg Avenue.

There are a couple of other purchases on their way. I ordered a build-it-yourself palette for my Urban Decay eye shadows and I got offered a beautiful outfit from Westward Bound, which must arrive in about three weeks. Exciting!

On Wednesdays we wear Black

... like every other day.

The Sassenhein lake greeted me again. with a touch of summer this time. At this lake is a pavilion with patio overlooking the water. Two days ago this place was the stage to the local summer fair. Summer weather was one wish too much, but aside that it was lovely. The merchants and the little stalls of home made marmalade and vintage utensils charms me. I particularly like the brocante stands, where you cannot know in advance what to find.

The cauldron on fire is a traditional Hungarian way of preparing gulyás soup (in English known as Goulash I believe). The installation is called bogrács. One of the stands on the fair was selling hand forged bográcses from Hungarian origin and gulyás according to authentic recipe

Oh this pot holder / oven mitten is an item that I have seen on another fair, about two years ago and I have always regretted not having bought it. This time fortune was on my side, it was even on sale! €4 only! The little black dress is my apron for the rare occasions that I bake. The pearls are part of it.

My fair purchases included this cow horn and a lovely old-looking frame. The feathers are from my childhood home town, that I've collected two weeks ago.

     

 

My recent witch-y moods are most likely to be influenced by this horrific and intense series that I am watching these days. Just recently have I finished American Horror Story's third season: Coven, and oh my deer it was dark and twisted and beautiful.

Last weekend was the second edition of Nachtschade. This party is one of the way too few EBM industrial and synthpop parties around here. I had the greatest time dancing and socializing. The evening was great. weather was good, music was danceable and the people were friendly. Thanks for the great night I had, NachtSchade!

Major ring post

♥ New year's eve was celebrated with friends and this was my outfit. ♥

And lately I have been finding lots of joy in jewelry again, I thought it was time to post about my pretties, some of them new, some of them old, but certainly all much appreciated.

♥ Plastic bracelet bought in Berlin on a school trip like eight years ago (H&M). Rose bracelet if new (Six). ♥

♥ Black ring with rose pattern (old, I don't remember the brand), large new ring with black stone (Six), bird-skull ring from years ago (Accessorize) & a smaller new ring with black stone (I am). Other hand: small new ring, suited for every occasion (Kruidvat) & a double-finger-ring with roses (old-idk). ♥

♥ Hair clip is one one my prettiest new purchases, from the Kruidvat limited edition holiday collection. I love holiday style!  ♥

Last month I decided to buy the gel-nailpolish lamp after all. I had been doubting a lot about it lately, because a lamp is expensive. In hindsight I am glad I bought it. My nail polishes last up to a weak with this new system (compared to a couple of hours only, as before)! This system requires a special LED-UV lamp and special gel base- and top coat. Additionally, I use a gel primer and pre- and after cleaner from the same brand. Sometimes I just put top and base coat without any color, but for optimal result I like putting my Lady in Black OPI in-between the layers. But of course any color would do. Occasionally, I put a mattifying normal top coat for increased mysterious effect.

♥ The keys were originally purchased with those ugly hooks on them, but I transferred them onto these little roses that I have been wearing for ages already. (Key hangers - Six, black earrings - Pim Kie) ♥

♥ Red collection. Hardly wear it to be honest, although the bracelet is one of my old beloved pieces. ♥
