Dead I am the sky, watching angels cry

Ready for the night ♥

Last weekend was the second edition of Nachtschade. This party is one of the way too few EBM industrial and synthpop parties around here. I had the greatest time dancing and socializing. The evening was great. weather was good, music was danceable and the people were friendly. Thanks for the great night I had, NachtSchade!

Preparation music of the evening:
Rob Zombie yeah!

Major ring post

Image
♥ New year's eve was celebrated with friends and this was my outfit.

Border_Long

And lately I have been finding lots of joy in jewelry again, I thought it was time to post about my pretties, some of them new, some of them old, but certainly all much appreciated.

Image
♥ Plastic bracelet bought in Berlin on a school trip like eight years ago (H&M). Rose bracelet if new (Six).

Image
♥ Black ring with rose pattern (old, I don't remember the brand), large new ring with black stone (Six), bird-skull ring from years ago (Accessorize) & a smaller new ring with black stone (I am). Other hand: small new ring, suited for every occasion (Kruidvat) & a double-finger-ring with roses (old-idk).

Image
♥ Hair clip is one one my prettiest new purchases, from the Kruidvat limited edition holiday collection. I love holiday style!

Last month I decided to buy the gel-nailpolish lamp after all. I had been doubting a lot about it lately, because a lamp is expensive. In hindsight I am glad I bought it. My nail polishes last up to a weak with this new system (compared to a couple of hours only, as before)! This system requires a special LED-UV lamp and special gel base- and top coat. Additionally, I use a gel primer and pre- and after cleaner from the same brand. Sometimes I just put top and base coat without any color, but for optimal result I like putting my Lady in Black OPI in-between the layers. But of course any color would do. Occasionally, I put a mattifying normal top coat for increased mysterious effect.

♥ The keys were originally purchased with those ugly hooks on them, but I transferred them onto these little roses that I have been wearing for ages already. (Key hangers - Six, black earrings - Pim Kie)

Image
♥ Red collection. Hardly wear it to be honest, although the bracelet is one of my old beloved pieces.

Judging a book by its cover

Before summer I started reading the Lauren Kate books, drawn to them by their cover print. I was looking for some easy reading, juicy surrealistic love story and this series totally fulfills those needs. It is a four-book struggle of human Luce and angel Daniel. Can you imagine how already that difference would make a love life complicated? Not to mention that it seems Luce and Daniel have met in the past. Many times... Ow, the romantic drama!

Image
♥ From first to most recent with original titles: Fallen, Torment, Passion & Rapture. In between another book of this series was released -Fallen in Love- , with earlier love stories, which I haven't read yet. ♥

Image
♥ Currently I'm halfway the fourth part. I read nearly every evening when I get in my comfy bed. Often I go to bed early so I can read. ♥

Image
♥ I particulairy enjoyed the second one -Torment. It had the most beautiful scenery, on a cliff-side elitary school, where people live together serenely, the sea wind is like a calming melody, where every breakfast is a royal meal with the freshest ingredients and the flowers bloom freshly every morning. I could almost feel the sun on my face when reading it. ♥

Image
I'm in a brooch- and ring-buying mood lately. Here two of my brooches; the upper from a long time ago (vintage) and the lower from Accessorize. Since I took this picture about three weeks ago, I purchased two more; a silver snake and a skull cameo. ♥

Image
♥ The wall decoration is a vintage soviet lamp (judging by its power socket) that my friends E and S bought for my house and I made a frame around it (wood, second hand) with real velvet background. I love the result! ♥

Germany - Cologne

Image
♥For our 3 year anniversary, BF and I went to Cologne (Germany) for a weekend.
We stayed three days and two nights and the room he he booked was the Pink Suite. How awesome!?
Ow, and this is a newspaper I picked up in the ICE in Germany.

Image
♥Back side of the Dom in moonlight.
The Dom of Cologne, situated next to the Hauptbahnhof, is a black cathedral. Its walls really are black.♥

Image
♥Into the holiness.

Image
♥First morning, Frühstuck (breakfast) was in this lovely authentic looking breakfast place.
First day I took a 'normal breakfast' (bread, jam, egg and hot chocolate),
but the second day I went all German with a 'Royal Breakfast' (bread, different kinds of meat, egg and also hot chocolate).

Image
♥Walked into a random church on Sunday where the mass was still going on, so we visited its small garden.
I love how church 'gardens' have tomb stones.

Image
♥Shopped so lovelily this weekend! This FUCK YOU YOLO dress is so wrong, it's awesome. I totally love it. (Nameless shop)

♥Other than that I shopped two more black dresses, a velvety one and one with leather straps; the ornamented leggings on the pic above (New Yorker); a fantastic bag (also in the pic above, Jumex); a pair of earrings (will surely be picted in a next post); a bow-belt with studs. Also tried on a billion high heels, but none of them were shaped for my feet.

Image
Walking across the Neumarkt suddenly 1600 Pandas happen. WWF is asking for attention for the small amount of Pandas that are left in the wild, which is tragic of course, but the 1600 plastic pandas in the middle of the city center made me smile. They look so happy to get cuddled by all the people!♥

New purchases

As promised; here is an "I-shopped" of my vacation.

Image
♥ The golden Little Diva beauty case, the soft pink Guerlain bag (to contain my
little Miss Dior bottle) and the leopard eye cover I already had,
they were in my big zebra suitcase. New are the tights and the black lacy necklace. ♥

Image
♥  The necklace was actually not bought in Hungary, but just before (H&M).
Under it is one of a series of three black notebooks (Søstrene Grene). ♥

Image
♥ My first-of-the-season LBD with studs (or glitters). Yay, I love this one. I also wore it for traveling.
(super unknown brand and even unknown-er shop in Hungary)♥

Image
Not sure whether to call this a sweater or a dress, but anyway I love it.
The details on the back are brilliant too; little bows and tiny golden jewels hanging from them.
Unknown brand and shop.

Other than that I shopped a lovely set of earrings in shape of massive silver crosses, which will surely pop by in my blog at some point. Also a new watch, that has a little bit of a vintage look, leather strap that goes around the arm three times and golden studs. Also, them most expensive of my purchases is a dress that I am wearing as I am writing this; black, tight, fierce. It reminds me of a military air hostess dress (uhh.. there is no such thing is there?)

Sweet summer sunshine

Enjoying the sun and showing off one of my fave perfumes, Miss Dior. Thankyou Elselien for the pretty pics and collage:)

♥ This is a little gift from Dior when buying a Miss Dior fragrance. This iny box isn't just cute on the outside, on the inside it shows a glimpse of a luxurious fashion dream. The little bottle is a fairy sized 5 ml miniature. It is way too adorable to ever use it! I display it at my perfume table.

I never thought you would come and visit me... I'm on cloud nine

Image
New rings (Clair's) and earrings I don't remember ever wearing before.

The very newest purchase in my closet is yet another LBD. Its simplicity makes it elegant, I can wear this with tons of different styles. Today's style is elegant goth; decorative references to death (like the bird skull ring and black flowers in my hair) with virginly ornaments (necklace) and bare legs. Eye makeup (black, white and a little purple) is all Urban Decay; Lipstick is dark red from Make Up For Ever.

Image
My 1000th Little Black Dress (second hand).

Heels I usually only wear on vacation (New Yorker).

LBDs

Little Black Dresses. I have a strong desire for them. Here are two new ones I purchased lately
Image
Image
♥From the Night by Suiteblanco collection, bought second hand. I love its open back and the folds in the skirt part! Goes perfectly with my bordello's. On the tv in the background I was playing Godsmack songs. My top three: Voodoo, I stand alone and Awake.
Image

Image

♥This is not really an LBD, although I'm wearing one. This is my newly purchased diary / agenda for the coming school year. It's from Dolce Luna, mostly famous for their jewelry. This agenda is so exuberantly decorated with cute little pieces of lace and delicate cameos. Every week has a line of wisdom, such as "What will you do today, that will make you proud in a year?"
Image

Image
♥This Little Cuty Black Dress is from Donna Li, the fall off shoulders of lace made me fall in love with it. Purchased on a day of shopping (Ici Paris XL work training) in Utrecht. Shoes are from V&D (purchased as 'work shoes') and the tights are from Tally Weijl.

The plant and the chair in the last pictures have a special story. They are both found on the street. The plant was orphaned about 4 years ago. It was on the street, half dead. Someone had obviously given up on it and put it outside to throw away. I took it home and cut all the dead leaves, replanted it in a more comfy pot and in the following months it had grown massively. Now it still shows the pain from being abandoned, but it lives. I think it is happy.
As for the chair, this fairy tale story happened about two years ago, when I was heading for some lecture. I saw this chair outside, in front of an internet cafe. The weather was grey and lightly rainy (can you imagine how chairs must hate that weather!). I parked my bike and went inside the cafe and asked why the chair was outside, the dude looked at me uninterestedly and said the neighbor man puts his crap outside sometimes, for the cafe to take if they like (there was also a crappy leather couch outside), but they didn't want it. So I took it on the back of my bike home. I cleaned it thoroughly and discovered there was a price tag on it of 120!! I guess the neighbor had a small antique shop? After all the chair got a lovely home with me and is now used as my computer chair.
